Day 1 of SHIFT: Connect will explore the topics of accessing food systems and accessing healthcare. We will explore the role of planning, the built form, and Covid-19 on these systems with a panel discussion on the access to food and a panel discussion on the access to food.

Day 2 of SHIFT: Connect will explore the role of services and infrastructure, with a specific lens on rural planning in several events. Events on this day include a panel discussion with First Mile and Indigenous rural broadband infrastructure, a discussion on the role of parks in complete communities and the importance during Covid will take place with representatives from municipal government, federal government, and NGO's. There will also be two discussions on transit; one from DalTRAC discussing the impact of Covid-19 on transit and a panel with rural transit providers in Nova Scotia and Ontario.

Day 3 of SHIFT: Connect will explore education and information and the impacts of Covid-19. Events on this day will include a panel discussion with library operators from around Canada, a discussion on the impacts of Covid-19 on the workplace and education provision, and a youth panel.

Day 4 of SHIFT: Connect will explore community and involvement in planning and community building. Events on this day will include a panel discussion with community engagement leaders in Halifax, a panel discussion with curators of public art and community building projects, and a panel discussion with live performers, and live performances!

Day 5 of SHIFT: Connect will conclude our conference with a day of keynote speakers and workshops. Our keynote speakers are Dr. Laxmi Pant, from the University of Greenwich discussing rural broadband in the context of sustainability transitions and living labs; and Dr. Kate Mulligan from the University of Toronto discussing the role of planning in healthy places. There will also be three workshops on this day from; Planifax who will be exploring the use of technology in engagement with planning; Trips By Transit who will take us on a virtual journey of using transit to explore natural spaces; and Natasha Juckes who will be running an interactive audit on street safety for women.
